At a glance
A classic flat-six, opened to exploration.
This educational reconstruction represents the naturally aspirated 930/21 engine of the 1984 U.S.-market Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2: an air-cooled, horizontally opposed flat-six.
The transparent, borderless presentation places the model directly on your desktop. Orbit, pan and zoom to explore it, then lock placement and navigation.
Some geometry and dimensions are inferred or approximated. This is an educational reconstruction, not OEM engineering data.
Visible mechanics
Follow the moving components.
Watch the crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and cam-driven valvetrain. Cutaway and Inspect views expose the relationships hidden by the assembled engine.

Cutaway / Inspect / Exploded View
See inside. Separate the assembly.
- Dressed view restores the assembled engine
- Cutaway hides the cooling cowling
- Inspect exposes the mechanism
- Hierarchical Exploded View separates assemblies
- Inspect combines with Exploded View
- Pause and resume mechanical motion
Motion is held during the exploded presentation.

Camera / Detail inspection
Explore from your own angle.
Orbit, pan and zoom with keyboard or mouse controls. Click the engine to reveal its compact menu and unlock before changing camera or placement.
Pause for close examination or resume the animated mechanism. The technical information below explains the approved RPM display mapping.
Customer controls / Download / Requirements
Download and first launch.
Extract the complete ZIP and launch the included Windows application. No Blender, Godot or development tools are required.
Controls and desktop interaction
Click the engine to reveal its menu. Unlock before camera or placement adjustments.
- E / C / I
- Explode or reassemble / Cutaway / Inspect internal mechanism.
- Space / R / L
- Pause or resume / Reset view / Lock or unlock.
- Arrow keys
- Hold to orbit. Shift with camera keys gives fine movement.
- + or = / − / Home
- Zoom in / zoom out / camera reset.
- Mouse
- Left-drag moves the desktop model; middle-drag orbits; right-drag pans; wheel zooms. Mouse navigation works but is intentionally unlabeled in the menu.
- X
- Close. Relaunch the same executable to reopen.
Desktop position, size, camera view, lock and selected operating preferences persist where supported. Motion is held during the exploded presentation.
Windows requirements and installation
64-bit Windows with a graphics driver supporting OpenGL 3.3. Tested on Windows 11 Home 64-bit, build 10.0.26200, with Intel UHD Graphics 630. Performance depends on hardware; no minimum-FPS or cross-hardware guarantee is made.
Extract the entire ZIP to a normal local folder. Open the GE017 folder and launch GE017 Engine.exe. Keep GE017 Engine.pck, DesktopEngineHost.exe and the assets folder alongside it. No installer, Blender, Godot or development tools are required. Read the included README before use.
RPM display and rendering behavior
The approved fixed labels are 2200 RPM / Idle / 60 RPM. The counter displays 60–2200 RPM, while actual animation operates at 60–1000 RPM. Displayed 800 aligns with Idle and actual 800 RPM; above displayed 800, the remaining slider travel maps to actual 800–1000 RPM.
The upper displayed scale intentionally differs from animation speed. Running uses a 30 FPS cap, with reduced rendering activity when settled and paused. This is not a guaranteed frame rate. No sound feature is claimed.
