An engine on your desktop
Run it. Open it. Explore it.
A transparent, borderless Windows application puts the animated model directly on your desktop. Pause to examine the mechanism, or orbit, pan and zoom while it runs.
Interactive software — not a physical engine, an STL file or a conventional video.
Interactive controls available in the supplied application.
Actual GE-020 model views
Four views of the engineering.
From the assembled engine to its internal relationships. Screenshots from the owner-accepted RC03 Windows build, with the original engine appearance preserved.

About the real engine
The 1966 Street Hemi.
This educational reconstruction represents a stock-style 1966 U.S. Dodge Coronet 426 Street Hemi V8, with dual Carter AFB carburetors and solid-tappet valvetrain. Its hemispherical-head architecture provides a distinctive view of the crankshaft, piston, camshaft and valve relationships.
The represented configuration uses a four-speed manual, manual steering and no air conditioning. Manufacturer identification describes the historical subject. This is an independent Wolfgang Engineering model.
Interactive features
Explore at your own pace.
Follow the motion
Observe the crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and cam-driven pushrod/rocker valvetrain, including animated compression of the dual valve springs. Pause and resume for examination.
Reveal the architecture
Switch between Dressed, Cutaway and Inspect. Separate assemblies with hierarchical Exploded View, including Exploded Inspect.
Control your viewpoint
Orbit, pan and zoom with mouse or keyboard. Unlock before adjustments; reset or lock when you are ready.
Nine engine finishes
Your finish. The original details.
Choose Hemi Orange, Forest Green, White, Yellow, Red, Dark Blue, Black, Silver/Grey or Bare Metal. Hemi Orange remains the default.
Both valve covers and the oil pan remain satin black in every preset. Carburetors, chrome air cleaner, exhaust, rubber, wiring and hardware retain their individual material treatment.
The selected finish is saved in the application's own GE-020 preferences.
Technical information / Windows download
Everything you need to get started.
Extract the complete ZIP and launch the included application. No Blender, Godot or development tools required.
Controls and desktop interaction
Click the engine to reveal its menu. Unlock before camera or placement adjustments.
- E / C / I
- Explode or reassemble / Cutaway / Inspect internal mechanism.
- Space / R / L
- Pause or resume / Reset view / Lock or unlock.
- Arrow keys
- Hold to orbit. Shift with camera keys gives fine movement.
- + or = / − / Home
- Zoom in / zoom out / camera reset.
- Mouse
- Left-drag moves the desktop model; middle-drag orbits; right-drag pans; wheel zooms.
- X
- Close. Relaunch the same executable to reopen.
Desktop position, size, camera view, lock and selected finish persist. Motion is held during the exploded presentation.
Windows requirements and installation
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with graphics support for OpenGL 3.3 or newer. The native desktop helper requires .NET Framework 4.8. Performance depends on hardware; no guaranteed frame rate is claimed.
Extract the entire ZIP to a normal local folder and launch GE020 Engine.exe. Keep the PCK, desktop helper and assets together. Approximately 160 MB extracted. No installer, Blender or Godot installation is required. This is an unsigned application; read the included README before use. No audio is supplied.
RPM display and rendering behavior
The displayed scale is 60 / 800 Idle / 2200 RPM. Actual animation operates at 60–1000 RPM; displayed 800 aligns with actual 800 RPM. Above displayed 800, the remaining slider travel maps to actual 800–1000 RPM.
The upper displayed scale intentionally differs from animation speed. Running uses a 30 FPS cap, with reduced rendering activity when settled and paused. This is not a guaranteed frame rate.
Included download and accepted corrections
GE-020 v1.0 RC03 Windows ZIP: 54,423,871 bytes (54.42 MB). Richard accepted this exact build, including the valve-spring animation, corrected hollow dipstick routing and oil-filter alignment.
The supplied v287 source geometry and accepted material appearance are preserved. Nine finish presets are included; the valve covers and oil pan stay satin black.

Educational scope and limitations
A visual and mechanical educational reconstruction, not OEM CAD, manufacturing drawings, certified dimensions or repair/fabrication guidance. Factory casting cores and precise metrology are approximated. Wrist pins are modeled centered rather than the documented 0.060-inch offset. A sampled exhaust cam-contact gap of approximately 0.083 mm remains disclosed in the engineering record.
Valve-spring motion is animated, not an elastic dynamics simulation. Fuel flow and mechanical fuel-pump follower dynamics are not simulated. A separate fuel-pump follower spring trial was not promoted to this release.
Educational visual and mechanical reconstruction; not OEM engineering data, certified dimensional information or fabrication/repair guidance. Some geometry is inferred or approximated. Chrysler, Dodge and Hemi names and trademarks identify the historical subject only. Wolfgang Engineering is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by or endorsed by the original manufacturers.
